Libery Leading The People for a new generation!

'libery leading the people' was definetly the inspiration behind my current work which was my intention. there are obvious connections between my painting and these photos. the layout of the photos (triangle format) and a central figure representing an analogy reference 'Liberty'. like i did previously in 'liberty' i decided to include myself in the picture again to emphasise how stongly i feel about the topics represented in the photos. i then asked a friend to stand the other side holding an umbrella to show another view. the umbrella is there to represent a shelter due to a fear of being exposed to a new way of thinking. that is why the final photo is the series is dreams and held by a young girl who represents the next generation.

Im currently working on a piece of work which im very excited about. when i painted Liberty Leading the people it was my attempt to reflect the events of the time and thats the case once again with this project as i am trying in a similar way to make a statement based on my observations and personal feelings towards those subjects displayed within the photographs.

the piece of work that im most well known for is 'Libeerty leading the people'. i created this painting with the intention of portraying the new found liberty of the Parisian people and making a political statement about the revolution that was occuring at the time. i have always been inspired by contemporary events and often try and reflect what i see around me through my art.

hey hows it going my name is Eugene Delacroix im new to this bloggin thing but i thought it might be a good way of getting my work out there and having people see my art. i hope you enjoy!

im goin to start by giving a brief overview of my practice and my influences: my work is widely considered to be at the forefront of the romanticism movement which is extremely flattering but i try not to let any of that stuff get in the way of the creative process.
